We'll walk through a complete analysis using a sample chart with specific planet positions. Follow along step by step — and resist the temptation to jump ahead to the answer. The discipline of the workflow is the point.

Step 1: Determine the Question

Conclusion: Marriage IS promised. There is no obstruction in the CSL itself, so we proceed straight to building significators and finding the timing window. (The neutral houses 5, 9, 12 simply color the marriage with family/fortune themes; they neither block it nor delay it.)

We need significator tables for houses 2, 7, and 11.

Step 4: Identify the Favorable Dated Dasha-Bhukti-Antara

The dated Mahadasha sequence for this native:

The Moon sits at 15°55' Aquarius in Shatabhisha, whose star lord is Rahu, so the native is born partway through the Rahu Mahadasha (the balance of Rahu's 18 years runs from birth). Computing the full Vimshottari arc for this birth gives:

The native is born in the Rahu balance period and runs the long Jupiter Mahadasha all through childhood and adolescence — too young to marry. The realistic adult window is the Saturn Mahadasha (2011 → 2030). So we re-anchor the search to the Saturn MD, not the birth-balance Rahu MD, and ask: within the Saturn period, which Bhukti brings the marriage houses live?

Saturn signifies house 7 (it is the occupant of the 7th, Level 2) — so the entire Saturn Mahadasha keeps the marriage house in the background. The Bhukti and Antara then decide which sub-window inside it actually fires.

Scanning the dated Bhukti periods within the Saturn Mahadasha (Saturn-Saturn runs first from 2011; the marriage-relevant ones):

The Saturn-Venus Bhukti — 11 Oct 2018 → 10 Dec 2021 — is the standout. Venus is the 7th cuspal sub-lord itself and a Level-1 significator of the 11th, so the Bhukti lord re-states the very promise we confirmed in Step 2; and it sits inside the Saturn Mahadasha (7th occupant). Mahadasha and Bhukti together put the 7th and the 11th on the table across a real three-year window. This is our primary marriage window.

Scanning the dated Antara periods within the Saturn-Venus Bhukti (the Antara opens with the Bhukti lord, Venus, then runs in Vimshottari order):

The sharpest sub-window opens first: Saturn-Venus-Venus — roughly Oct 2018 → Apr 2019. Venus is the 7th CSL repeating at both the Bhukti and the Antara level, inside the Saturn (7th occupant) Mahadasha — every one of the three lords connects to the marriage group, and the decisive 7th CSL is named twice. That is the most likely opening of the marriage window. Two later Antaras inside the same Bhukti also bring the 7th directly and act as strong follow-on triggers:

1. Saturn-Venus-Saturn (≈Sep 2020 → Mar 2021): Saturn occupies the 7th (Level 2) and is the Mahadasha lord — a strong 7th-house re-statement.
2. Saturn-Venus-Ketu (≈Aug 2021 → Dec 2021): Ketu is the Level-1 significator of the 7th and the occupant of the 2nd — the tightest single 7th link, closing the Bhukti.

We carry Saturn-Venus-Venus forward as the primary trigger, with the Saturn and Ketu Antaras as the follow-ons, to the RP filter.

Step 5: Apply the Ruling Planet Filter

The Ruling Planets are computed for the moment of judgment. For this worked example we take the chart moment as the moment of judgment (a Friday, Venus's day), so the RPs are read straight from the engine's ruling-planet block.

Consolidated unique RP list: Venus, Rahu, Mercury, Saturn (Venus and Rahu and Mercury each appear twice — that repetition strengthens their weight).

Cross-checking with the marriage significators:

Result: All 4 unique RPs are also marriage significators — an unusually clean confirmation. Crucially, Saturn and Venus (both Ruling Planets) are precisely the Mahadasha and Bhukti lords of our dated primary window, and Venus is doubled.

Timing refinement from RPs: Saturn (an RP) is both the Mahadasha lord and the 7th-house occupant, and Venus (a doubled RP) is the Bhukti lord and the 7th CSL — so the RP filter points straight at the Saturn-Venus Bhukti (11 Oct 2018 → 10 Dec 2021). Within it, Venus repeating endorses the Saturn-Venus-Venus Antara (≈Oct 2018 → Apr 2019) as the sharpest opening; Saturn (an RP) backs the Saturn-Venus-Saturn Antara, and Ketu (not an RP itself but ruled by Saturn, which IS an RP) anchors the closing Saturn-Venus-Ketu Antara. The RP filter therefore strongly endorses the Saturn-Venus Bhukti, and within it the Venus, Saturn, and Ketu Antaras as the marriage sub-periods — with the Venus Antara opening the window.

Step 6: Check Transits

We're now inside the dated Saturn-Venus Bhukti (11 Oct 2018 → 10 Dec 2021), targeting the Saturn-Venus-Venus Antara (≈Oct 2018 → Apr 2019) and the later Saturn-Venus-Saturn / Saturn-Venus-Ketu Antaras. Transits do not create the event — they fine-tune which week inside the dated window the event triggers. We look for the slow movers (Jupiter, Saturn) to be transiting marriage-supportive sub-lords, and use the Sun and Moon as the fast daily/weekly timers.

Key transits to watch (the significators that are also Ruling Planets):

Jupiter (7th lord, slow mover): A trigger condition is Jupiter transiting a degree whose sub-lord is Venus, Ketu, Saturn, or Mercury (all marriage significators here). Jupiter transiting its own star Punarvasu, or any point sub-ruled by Venus (the 7th CSL), reinforces the 7th-house promise.

Saturn (7th occupant, RP, slow mover): Because Saturn occupies the 7th and is a Ruling Planet, Saturn transiting a Venus or Ketu sub gives a strong, slow confirmation across the Antara.

Sun (Level-3 of 11th; daily timer): The Sun moves ≈1°/day. The trigger day is when the Sun transits a degree whose sub-lord is Venus, Ketu, or Saturn — for example, when the Sun transits Pushya (Ketu's Nakshatra, the very star that makes Ketu the Level-1 7th significator) at a Venus or Ketu sub-division.

Moon (weekly/daily timer): The Moon completes the zodiac in ≈27 days. Practitioners confirm the wedding day by the Moon transiting a sub-lord that signifies 2, 7, or 11 — most decisively a Venus or Ketu sub — within the chosen Antara.

Transit convergence (conceptual): The strongest trigger is when the Sun (daily) and Moon (within the day) both transit Venus/Ketu/Saturn sub-divisions while the Saturn-Venus-Venus Antara is running (≈Oct 2018 → Apr 2019) — or one of its later Saturn-Venus-Saturn / Saturn-Venus-Ketu follow-ons — and Jupiter/Saturn are themselves transiting marriage sub-lords. The Dasha names the dated band; that transit convergence picks the precise wedding week inside it.

Step 7: Deliver the Prediction

The timing window: The native is born in the Rahu balance period and runs the Jupiter Mahadasha through youth, so the realistic adult marriage window is the Saturn Mahadasha (2011 → 2030). Communication to client: "Your chart positively indicates marriage. The strongest window opens in your Saturn major period, in the Venus sub-period that runs from October 2018 to December 2021 — Venus is both the decider for your 7th house and a strong significator of your house of fulfilment. The window opens sharpest at the very start, around October 2018 to April 2019, when Venus is reinforced again at the sub-sub-period level, with two further strong openings in late 2020 and the second half of 2021 when your 7th house is directly activated. I'd recommend being open to introductions and connections from late 2018 onward. The exact wedding week is fixed nearer the time by checking transits, but the favourable period is clear. (These dates assume your stated birth details and are drawn from a Vimshottari Dasha calculation.)"

Caveat noted: "This analysis assumes your birth time of 07:00 AM is accurate to within 2-3 minutes. KP is birth-time sensitive — a few minutes can shift a cuspal sub-lord — so if there's any uncertainty in the recorded time, I'd recommend a horary verification using a KP number for additional confirmation."

The Role of Houses 2, 7, and 11 — Why These Three?

Now that you've seen the complete analysis, let's deepen your understanding of why these specific houses govern marriage:

House 2 — Family expansion: Marriage transforms a single person into a family unit. The 2nd house represents family, accumulated wealth, and domestic establishment. When 2nd house significators activate, the family structure changes.

House 7 — The partnership itself: This is the primary marriage house — the house of the spouse, the contract, the commitment. The 7th CSL is the gatekeeper for this reason.

House 11 — Fulfillment of desire: The 11th house represents gains, the realization of hopes, and social networks. Marriage is, among other things, the fulfillment of one of the most fundamental human desires.

The Obstructive Houses: 1, 6, 10

House 1 — Self: The 1st house opposes the 7th. Strong 1st house activation during a supposed marriage window suggests the native's focus is on personal independence, self-development, or solo ventures — energy flowing away from partnership.

House 6 — Conflict: The 6th house is the 12th from the 7th — the "loss" of partnership. When 6th house significators dominate, disputes, separations, or obstacles to union arise.

House 10 — Career: The 10th house is the 12th from the 11th — the "loss" of desire fulfillment. Strong 10th house activation may indicate that career demands override the marriage timeline.

Beyond the Prediction: What If Marriage Is Denied?

Not every chart promises marriage. When the 7th CSL predominantly signifies houses 1, 6, 10, the honest analysis is: "The chart does not indicate marriage in its current configuration."

But this verdict comes with professional responsibilities:

1. Never deliver a blunt "no" without context. Explain what IS indicated — perhaps strong career growth, personal independence, or other life themes the chart supports.

2. Acknowledge the chart's limitations. "The chart shows current indications, not permanent cosmic decrees. Life circumstances, personal choices, and transit shifts can create new openings."

3. Offer a constructive path. "A horary chart can provide a focused, time-specific answer when you have a particular relationship prospect in mind."

4. Never frame denial as destiny. KP shows strong tendencies, not unbreakable fate. The chart is a map of probabilities, not a script.

Common Misconceptions

"A Venus period automatically means marriage." Venus is the natural karaka for marriage, but in KP, natural karakatwa is secondary to house signification. A Venus period activates whatever houses Venus signifies in the specific chart. Here we are fortunate — Venus happens to be both the 7th CSL and a Level-1 significator of the 11th, so the Venus Bhukti genuinely is a marriage window. But in a chart where Venus signified, say, houses 6, 8, 12, a Venus period would NOT promise marriage no matter how "naturally" Venus relates to love. Always check the signification, not the karaka label.

"Saturn in the 7th house means no marriage or late marriage." This is a classical Vedic concern, not a KP rule. In KP, Saturn occupying the 7th (as in this chart) simply makes Saturn a Level-2 significator of house 7. Whether it helps or hinders depends on the 7th cuspal sub-lord (Venus here — supportive) and on what Saturn's own star lord and sub-lord signify. A 7th-house Saturn can even time the marriage when its sub-period runs, rather than denying it.

"If Jupiter is strong, marriage is guaranteed." Jupiter's strength (dignity, aspects, etc.) is a Vedic consideration. In KP, what matters is Jupiter's signification chain — which houses does Jupiter connect to through the 4-level hierarchy? A "strong" Jupiter signifying houses 5, 8, 12 does nothing for marriage. A "weak" Jupiter signifying houses 2, 7, 11 is a powerful marriage significator.

"The transit of Jupiter through the 7th house triggers marriage." This is Vedic transit reading. In KP, Jupiter transiting the 7th house only triggers marriage if the sub-lord of the exact degree Jupiter occupies signifies marriage-supportive houses. Jupiter at 5° Cancer (Pushya, Saturn sub) has a completely different effect than Jupiter at 10° Cancer (Pushya, Venus sub) — same Nakshatra, but a Venus sub speaks to marriage here while a Saturn sub does not.
